Naloxone Resources
Naloxone is not effective on an overdose where pure methamphetamine is suspected to be a cause. Naloxone only reverses an overdose in people with opioids, such as heroin or fentanyl, in their systems and will not reverse overdoses from other drugs like cocaine or methamphetamine. Right now many of the street drugs, such as methamphetamine, are mixed with opioids such as fentanyl. If you are not sure what the person has taken it is always better to call 911 and give naloxone.
